DeSha's 20 points leads Jays to win at Lebanon

LEBANON - The Jefferson City Jays weren't at full strength by the end of Friday's game against Lebanon, but they came out on top with a 62-52 victory.

The win was the 200th in coach Mark Anderson's career.

The Yellowjackets were ahead 13-12 after the first quarter, but the Jays were leading 26-24 by halftime.

Jefferson City was able to extend its lead to 41-32 by the end of the third quarter despite missing starting point guard Brennan Jeffries since the middle of the second quarter because of injury. The Jays were also without starting post player Michael Appiah-Brefo because of illness.

Sterling DeSha paced the Jays with 20 points, while Folz scored 13 and Jeffries added 10.

The freshman game will start at 4:30 p.m. with the JV playing at around 5:45 p.m. and the varsity starting around 7 p.m.
