Boys Basketball: Calvary Lutheran 66, Russellville 53

The Calvary Lutheran Lions scored 27 points in the first quarter Tuesday, pulling away to a 66-53 win against the Russellville Indians.

The Lions led by 12 points after one quarter and continued to hold a 39-28 advantage at halftime. Calvary Lutheran added to its lead in the third quarter and was ahead 54-39 entering the fourth.

Caleb Blehm led the Lions with 15 points, while Sam Owens finished with 14 points. Jonathan Lieb also reached double figures with 10 points. Ian McLaughlin made three 3-pointers for nine points and Grant Going had eight points and eight rebounds.

Taylor Crossman led the Indians with 16 points.

Calvary Lutheran (6-9) hosts St. Elizabeth on Friday. Russellville (4-14) plays next Tuesday at South Callaway.

In the JV game, Calvary Lutheran won 50-34. Will Struttman led the Lions with 16 points, while Charlie Scheperle finished with nine points. Kelton Sellars added seven points, six rebounds and five assists.
