Four area players selected to girls soccer all-state teams

A total of four area players have been selected to the all-state team in their respective classes by the Missouri Soccer Coaches Association.

Greta Haarmann of the Jefferson City Lady Jays was a second-team selection in Class 4 on defense. The senior, who has signed to play at Columbia College, was a key player in a defense that allowed an average just under two goals per game.

Haarmann finished with three goals, including one game-winner, and one assist this season.

Jefferson City finished with a record of 16-9-1, winning its district championship before falling to Lee's Summit West in the sectional round of the playoffs.

Izzy Luebbert of the Helias Lady Crusaders was a second-team selection in the midfield in Class 3. The freshman totaled 15 goals and six assists for the Lady Crusaders.

Helias was 12-10-1 this season, losing to Liberty: Wentzville in its district title game.

The Fatima Lady Comets had two players selected in Class 1.

Erika Pope, a sophomore, was named to the first team as a forward. Pope finished with 29 goals, including four game-winners, for the Lady Comets this season to finish as one of the top scorers in Mid-Missouri. She also totaled seven assists.

Haylee Bax, a senior, was selected to the second team as a midfielder. Bax had one goal this season for the Lady Comets.

Fatima was 6-8 this season, falling to Laquey in the semifinals of its district tournament.
